Music crashes & messages gone after downgrading from iOS 10

Hi,

I downgraded from iOS 10 because there was a bug where I could't call on skype while the screen was turned off so I decided to wait for newer beta and for now just downgrade back to iOS 9.3.2. When I downgraded everything was still on the phone but I saw that my messages were gone and that my Music crashes everything I want to actually play a song. Is there a fix for the last issue because it's really annoying and I don't get how it's possible.

I'm not the only one experiencing this, I saw a lot of other comments on YouTube who had the same Issue.

Any help / reaction is welcome.

Thanks

Hi there LucasG07,

I understand that your iPhone 6 Plus is currently using iOS 9.3.2, and that you are noticing a behavior where the Music app closes unexpectedly each time you play a song. You're in the right place for help.

If you haven't tried already, be sure to restart your iPhone before continuing to troubleshoot: Restart your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

If that hasn't helped, try to sign out of your Apple ID before launching the Music app. This step will remove music stored for offline use, but you'll be able to download it again. Use these steps:

Sign in with a different Apple ID on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

iTunes, iBooks, and App Store

  1. Tap Settings > iTunes & App Store.
  2. Tap your Apple ID. If you see the option to Sign In, you can change your Apple ID now.
  3. Tap Sign Out.

Then, launch the Music app again. Be sure to sign in again if this fully resolves your issue.

Take care!

Hi Stuckboss,

I'm happy to tell you the problem is fixed now, I tried your method but unfortunanely it did not work so I tried it the harder way. I backed up my iPhone and reset it then I configured it as "New iPhone" and then I played something on  Music. After that, I restored my iPhone from the backup and it works again now.

Anyway thanks for the help! 🙂

Hey LucasG07,

I just downgraded from the Beta back to 9.3.2 and am experiencing the same issues. Music keeps crashing, and all my messages have disappeared, although the space is still being taken up on my phone (had 4GB free before, still have about 4GB free now). I have a backup from before I upgraded to the Beta right now. My question is, should I backup again right now, and then do the full restore? Or should I just restore from my previous backup and cut my losses for the past 1 week. Just want to make sure I don't lose everything, even though it seems it is stored somewhere on my phone, but just not showing up. Hopefully that makes sense.

Thanks!

Well I think it's better to make a new backup on your computer via iTunes because then you will have your old and new backup and nothing can go wrong then.
I would recommend doing:

  1. Back up your iPhone again & put your photos that you took in the last week online (messenger, whatsapp, icloud, onedrive, etc...)
  2. Reset your iPhone and do the steps I said in the previous message
  3. Put your old back up back on your iPhone (maybe you'll have your messages back then)
  4. If your messages are back then download the photos back to your iPhone
  5. If your messages aren't back then put the new backup on your iPhone and don't lose that last week

Sorry if my English is bad, I hope I helped you with this.

I was just nervous running another back-up as I didn't want the new one over-riding/wiping out the old one, and then me being left with nothing. I have backed up my last week of pictures already, and as for the messages I actually don't have anything from the last week, just the ones that I have from after the downgrade. I may run a back-up of the current one onto another laptop of mine and then see what happens.

Thanks again!
