HELP! Clips freeze after export. DVD/Master file both affected.

Thanks Russ! Working library is on external Thunderbolt drive. Exporting to DVD or master file to system hard drive (ie not same drive as media). 3TB capacity on system drive and about 500GB of free space.

Thanks man! The freezing has been occurring at the same points each time I export. Nothing is different about this video as far as I know. Shot and edited same as all the others that work....

I'm remembering that I did update fcpx to the new version (whichever version changed the file structure to Library/Project/Event) at some point along the line....can't recall exactly when, but there is a chance that this project was updated during that process before finishing. Wonder if that would be part of the issue? But again, no other projects are giving me this problem.

Tried this, I don't think it worked....but then I realized I didn't delete the original file from the timeline before trying the export. Just deleted, replaced with optimized clip, and currently exporting again....fingers crossed 🙂

Uh, holy moly. I think this worked!! The only bummer is that I will likely need to re-cut the entire ceremony (several cameras edited into a compound clip) as I don't see a way to easily transcode and replace all of those cuts. But at least this tells me how to fix the freezing issue.

Update: No luck, Russ. The master file is actually freezing in new places now.

This hasn't happened to me with ANY other projects, just this particular wedding.
