Which charger should I use with my iPhone SE

I recently purchased an iPhone SE from Verizon and it came with the earbuds and charger. I need to purchase an automotive charger for this phone as I use it in my work truck and I have read several search results concerning which mobile charger I should use. Some say to not use anything over a 1 amp charger and other forums state I can use a 2.4 amp charger as the phone will automatically adjust the charging rate. I would like to get a good straight answer as to which mobile charger I can safely use to charge my phone without hurting the battery. Thank you for any feed back on this.
