Try force restarting your watch: press and hold both the side button and Digital Crown (ie both buttons) for around 10 seconds, until you see the logo.
If that does not help, next try charging your watch for around 2.5 hours, making sure that you follow the charging instructions here:
Check your battery and charge your Apple Watch - Apple Support
After that time, if it has not already restarted automatically, remove it from the charger and:
- Try restarting it (by pressing and holding the side button until you see the Apple logo).
- Next try force restarting it again.

If so, and the device still will not respond, then make an appointment at the Genius Bar of the nearest Apple Store to have it examined by Apple, or contact Apple support to schedule to send the device in to Apple for evaluation. Contact Apple for support and service - Apple Support

MY watch started having this problem with the latest release. Every few days, it pretends to be a block of glass and needs a hard reset. Fine for a few days, then.....
A number of other users have also reported experiencing the same behaviour recently.

Mine has started doing this too! I hope they get this fixed ASAP! I just bought my watch on the 11th of June. Not too happy to be having problems after owning it for only two weeks! Yikes! Not cool!!
