Syncing Apple Calendar with Google Calendar

I just purchased a 2016 Macbook (El Capitan) and have a Google account. There are events in my mac calendar that do not appear on the Google calendar. Is there a way to control the initial sync so that the mac calendar overrides the Google calendar? In other words to sync one-way initially? Thank you!!!

MacBook (Retina, 12-inch, Early 2016), OS X El Capitan (10.11.5)

Hey jma510,

Thanks for posting here! I see that some events that are on your Mac calendar aren’t showing up on your google calendar. I know that it’s important to have all your calendar events in the right place so they can sync with all your devices.

It’s possible that the events that aren’t showing on your google calendar are either synced with another account like iCloud, or are on a local calendar on your Mac. Check out this resource on the calendars app: Mac Basics: Calendar keeps your appointments - Apple Support

On the top left corner of the calendar app, click on “Calendars” to show all the calendars on your Mac and you can see what account the calendar is synced to.

You can drag the events that are not on the Google calendar over to the corresponding Google calendar in the left sidebar to move that event to that account.

Hope you have a great weekend!
