Q: Can I connect a DVI-DL Input from my Late 2012 Mac Mini?

Hi all...

I have a question...  I have a Late 2012 Mac Mini and I just purchased a new BenQ XL2411Z 24" Gaming Monitor.  It supports 1ms and up 144hz.  I know my Mac Mini (Late 2012) has a Intel 4000 1.5gb Video Card installed in it.  Can I use via either the HDMI Port or the Mini Display Port to connect it to the DVI-DL Port on the BenQ Monitor?

Is there a way to do this and reap the benefits of the 144hz instead of plain 60hz HDMI?  Also, is it possible to upgrade a Mac Mini Video Card?  (Half-Joking but still curious if it's possible?).

Thanks in advance!!

Mac mini, OS X El Capitan (10.11.5), Mac Mini (Late 2012) i7 Quad-Core.

No, because it doesn't have a separate video card. The graphics chip is soldered on the logic board.

60 Hz is the maximum refresh rate.

    Thanks for the quick response!

Even if I used the Mini Display Port and a Mini Display Port to Dual Link DVI Adapter I can't get more improved refresh rates for my monitor?  I realize the max refresh rate for HDMI is 60hz but I was hoping the Mini Display Port might offer up some more options.

I guess I'll have to look into a windows 10 system with improved graphics performance and for improved game play if this is the case.

Any answers on the Mini Display Port and the Dual Link DVI Adapter?

If you Google the specs for the Intel graphics, I think you'll find that limit is set by Intel, not by the OS used.

It's one of the lowest performing graphics chip out there. If you want high end graphics, you shouldn't be using a MacMini.

Thanks for the info...  I just was hoping the Mini Display Port would offer up some more options with my Mac Mini.  Unfortunately, I can't afford a Mac Pro Tower for the increased performance.  A Windows system would give me the potential and expansion I'm looking for...  I love my Mac for every days things and Productivity but for gaming they are not built.  But I guess that comparing apples (no pun intended) to oranges.

    Thanks again!
