Q: CONVERT MOV TO MXF

Hei Everybody.

Im a MacBook Pro user, running Yosemite in my 2010 and El Capitan in my 2012.

I have been using FCP 7 and FCP X for years now.

I need to deliver a file to a client. I have been delivering 1080i ProRes 422HQ 25 fps MOV files. Now is asking for a MXF file, MPEG 2 IMX 50, D-10 Mapping, YUV, 720x576 16:9, 50Mbit/s iframe.

The thing is, I have tried Apple Compressor, i do find the codec, 625i IMX50 D-10 but there is something in the file's metadata that makes their system recognise the file as 4:3 though it looks 16:9. I'm sending a TVShow for a Television Station.

Can anyone help me? I really don't know what to do..

Thanks everybody

Aldo

AFAIK, there is no way to do this in Compressor 4.2 (and certainly not in earlier versions).

I don't believe there is any way to modify the pixel aspect ratio in the MXF presets and my several attempts to "trick" the app by giving it anamorphic source files in various formats were not successful.

Possibly Episode can do this; I don't know. There is a trial version that would let you find out.

    Good luck.

You need to first set your SEQUENCE SETTINGS>AUDIO to DUAL MONO...and make sure all the levels are set to 0 (defaults to -3)

Then go FILE>EXPORT>SONY XDCAM.  And in there, choose the appropriate settings
