I have an old MacBook running Mac OS X version 10.5.8 and would like to upgrade to Lion, is this possible? I do not want to buy it only to find out that once I have it, it is not possible to upgrade to it. My laptop is MacBook 4.1 Core 2 Duo 13" White (Late 2008 Model)

Yes, if the computer has at least 2GB of RAM and you upgrade it to 10.6.8 first.

Thanks Niel for your response, much appreciated! Yes I have 2.5 GB RAM. So, you mean I have to get Snow Leopard first, I cannot upgrade straight to Lion?
Yes, unless you happen to find one of Apple’s Lion installation thumbdrives; these will in all probability cost far more than the combined price of the Snow Leopard DVD and Lion download code.
