Q: mac book pro (mid 2013) screen goes black moving screen results in it coming back on.

4 times my screen has blacked out.  It turns back on if I move the screen a few times.

    That symptom suggest that the display connection cable is faulty or has a bad connection.  You may examine it your self or make an appointment at an Apple store genius bar for a free evaluation.

    If your laptop still is under warranty you can take it to one of the Apple retailers and have them fix it under warranty. If it doesn't, you may be looking at a pricey repair ($500 is my guess) for replacing the top lid.

     

    Try pushing on the bottom frame of the screen. Does that cause the screen to die or to come back? If it does, you know the problem is in the screen lid area, and as I said that can get expensive. It is possible to replace the panel itself, but I don't recommend you try that. There are a few independent repair shops who can do that for you if you look around.
