We are users like yourself. We are not sending you anything.

If you have posted here, or followed some discussions you will get e-mails automatically notifying you of activity in those threads or communities.

You can turn off what e-mails you get either by making sure you are not following any posts or communities, or by turning off all the E-Mail notifications settings in your Profile settings here.

But it's up to you to manage what your receive. Nobody else can do this for you. And you are only getting e-mails you specifically agreed to receive when you posted or followed a thread or community.

Click on your name at the top of this page, and then on Preferences. E-Mail settings can be found there.

Check your account's preferences page and change the email settings so that you no longer get emails for following content. You can set the other options to suit your taste.

If you want to continue to receive some emails for some threads see your places to unsubscribe from any communities (you are currently following iMac) and your following content to unsubscribe from individual threads (this and one other). You can use the gear icons to unfollow items.

I am truly sorry for butting in. But I found this thread both helpful and humorous. Because I made the same kind of mistake. tt2 has been helping me with an iTunes for Windows problem. Even though I was totally rude and had a bad attitude when I first approached him for help. He was completely calm and cordial in his reply to me, which of course made me feel like a total schmuck! But I also made the mistake of checking the Follow tt2 just in case he replied to someone else having a similar problem.

The next morning, when I checked my email, there were ~50 emails from community support, all with his name on them. The very first thought in my mind was "Dang! This guy is working his behind off trying to help me!" Until I finally looked at the subject matter of all the emails. There were all these requests for help with iPods (which I don't have) and many regarding iTunes for Windows, but when I looked closer, most of the problems had nothing to do with mine.

Finally that little voice in my head, (you know, the one that usually lags 30 seconds to 2 weeks behind in your brain?) said "Ohhhh. I know what happened" I got busy and distracted, and forgot about my setting. Until the next morning when I had the original 50 emails, and now 25 or so more. That was all it took to get me in here, track down his profile, and uncheck the FOLLOW box.😁

So, like I said, I'm sorry to just butt in. It's just that I related to the plea from the originator, and knew without a doubt what was most likely their problem. And it made me chuckle, and hopefully tell you that very often, the Clueless people like me, are usually already frustrated when we write a request for help. And we forget that the majority of people here are volunteering their time and knowledge to try to help people like me. And I just wanted to say thank you for doing it.

Barb M. 😊

Your "Places" in your profile says you are following > Tutorials <- this is NOT a "forum" and I have NO IDEA how it is possible to Follow it - BUT - there is no "posting" on anything within either, so no email notices

You are NOT following any other forums

you are NOT following tt2's every post (I checked)

Here's why you are following Tutorials... go to each in turn and choose the [Following] button to UNfollow these - there is NO POINT in following a Tutorial and is a wonder there is the option

Let us know if you still are deluged... you do NOT want to completely turn OFF notifications so that you can be notified when someone replies on threads in which you DO participate

You'll get the hang of it...

Hello royzee79,

Just by the way, you can tell the poster, forum, and topic from the data at the beginning of each email. They may guide you to what you want to turn off. For instance, if you see random stuff from a single poster, you're probably following her. If you see random stuff from a single community, you're probably following it. And, if you see a lot of stuff on one topic, you're following the topic. Also, you can use a mail rule to shuffle all of this off to a separate folder, so it doesn't clutter your inbox. Then, you can read or delete it as desired.
