I activated iTunes Match on my two Macs. Now I have duplicate playlists on both machines

Why do I have duplicate playlists on both of my 2 macs after activating I Tunes Match?

How to remove all the duplicates?

MacBook Pro with Retina display, OS X Mavericks (10.9.4), 16GB SDRAM, 3.1Ghz Intel core 7

If everything uploaded all right to iTunes Match, then you can safely remove your local copies after a backup because you can use iCloud for playing your music.
