Whats happened to the book selections on i books.

I have over 200 ibooks and have multiple authors I like to read. I have been making my way through there books over the last few years. Only to find today that half of there books have vanished off ibooks. Not only that but half the book I have are no longer on ibooks some of them are part of a series which means the next book in the series is no longer there to get. Why has apple cut its book selection so dramatically?

If the books are no longer available in your country's store then it's because the publisher/rights-holder (not Apple) has removed them. You could try contacting the publisher and ask them if they have any plans on putting them back in your store (you can also try requesting them via iTunes, but without the publisher's agreement Apple can't sell them : http://www.apple.com/feedback/itunes.html), or are they still available on other ebook apps/stores that you have access to ?
