Q: How to disable auto-downloading of podcast episodes and rather instruct iTunes 12.4.1.6 to leave a notification if any new episode is available?

Basically the podcasts that I look forward to registering have very large episodes and I would like iTunes to rather notify me of available new episodes for manual download rather than auto-downloading each and every episode that comes along. How do I enable manual downloading of podcasts rather than auto-download? There is no setting in iTunes preferences.
