Q: Numeric Keypad and Macbook Internal Keyboard Not Working Together
Numeric Keypad and Macbook Internal Keyboard Not Working Together
I am a Logic Pro and Avid Pro-Tools user. I use many key-commands (shortcuts) in both applications. I do a lot of work on my MacBook Pro and some commands require using a numeric keypad. I purchased a small iHome USB numeric keypad and it works okay; however, when I attempt to instantiate a shortcut such as "shift + 1" on the Apple internal keyboard and the numeric pad respectively, it does not register together. Instead, when I press/hold "shift" on the Apple internal keyboard, the computer registers that I pressed "shift", but as soon as I press "1" on the USB numeric keypad, the computer cancels/ignores the fact that I was pressing/holding "shift" and registers the button press on the numeric keypad as a separate instance.
I had a full sized USB keyboard that I used with my MacBook previously; however, I was hoping to downsize and wanted a small numeric pad that I could fit in a laptop sleeve.
Any answers, comments, or suggestions to this question are very much appreciated!
