Q: How to change settings of directory network node for selected username ?
My notebook has an annoying issue with waking up after some hours of sleeping. When I open cover of notebook and I click to the password window or I wait for 3 seconds, it appears colour circle, the symbol for waiting, cpu is busy. It never disappear and I have to turn off violently my notebook, so after I can use it again. I tried many advises like reset PRAM or SMC, nothing is changed.
This is not the main problem and reason why I typing this message. It just could negatively affect the state of file system and some setting. My notebook is connected to Active Directory and I login to my notebook by AD user (mobile account created). 3 days ago configured one more option in login options sections in Users & Groups pan in settings. Last option is NIS, I set this option, but I did not test it yet.
Last night when again I had to turn off my notebook, because it could not recover after sleeping, my username from AD switched to “network node” NIS instead AD. So I could not login again.
What’s happen ? I do not know, why it switched to another network node, it is seen in login window, when you hoover by mouse over icon of username.
I could login by local administrator account I could quickly reconfigure login options back, so NIS option is off, but membership or belonging of my user to network node NIS was not changed after several reboots.
So I am completely lost, I could not login by username from AD, because somehow it belongs to wrong network node, so password which I am typing, it is sending by NIC and not by AD client.
I tried to find out more about network nodes, but nothing what is usable to my situation. I need a help from experts, which know where and how opendirectoryd
selects which network node is using for authencation.
I do not know why membership of username to NIS network node was changed and I need to switch back to AD, because I could not login to my user enviroment at all.
Where can I change membership of username to which network node is belonging ?
