Q: Will ipod touch 5th gen battery replacement delete all of my saved stuff on it?

I have a three year old iPod touch 5th gen and I have had to always have it plugged in and charging because it wouldnt last very long unplugged. Now it has died and when I try to charge it, it will show the apple logo for a couple seconds and then just turn off. It repeats this if I leave it plugged in but doesn't make it to the unlock screen. I plan on getting a battery replacement soon. I was  wondering if the replacement will delete all of my saved files on it? Hopefully it does not because I really don't want to lose all of my saved data on it. I'm not sure if I'm even able to backup the iPod. Because of the battery life.

    - If Apple does the replacement they exchange your iPod with a refurbished one with a new battery so your data is not saved/transferred. You have to do it yourself.

    - A third-party place will replace the batter and if all goes well your data is preserved. However, glitches happen and sometime the iPod gets erased.

    - Backup before getting the battery replaced
