Q: iPhone does not synchronize

My iPhone 5C latest software version 9.3.2 does not synchronize with iTunes 12.4.16 on my iMac. Neither manual nor automatic .

1) manual - I cannot drop a track or album on the icon of the phone nor on the tab of music. It does not highlight.

2) automatic: I get the page to set the synch, when I hit 'done' nothing happens. There is 2.66 Gb available on the phone it says, from 8Gb. The synch button is white, the ready button blue.

Extra info:

I cannot see the tracks I have on the phone when I hit the device/music (left bar on iTunes).

When I select the device (top icons: my music, cd, phone icon) then I do see the iPhone, it does show the phone info, like the serial number. It IS connected.

I tried importing new CD's (as AIFF and as AAC )but neither of these new files could be added to the phone .

remarks: my iTunes does not show cover art (even a newly imported CD where the tracks were downloaded) and will not get new album art - message 'cannot connect to the iTunes store' - but when I hit 'get similar' on the album it does concept and shows me (similar) content to buy.

OS X Yosemite (10.10.2), 1TB, 500GB SSD

    Hi Raicya,

I have seen these before and I choose not to engage iCloud for this audio content - but I have it for sharing a few documents I want to see in other devices (MBP).

The first link says: "If you use iCloud or other services to keep your content up to date, syncing through iTunes might be disabled.".

So that might be the issue. I deliberately choose that iCloud was a no go for audio. The iCloud would quickly be saturated with my devices.

So I stand for the question: go for low performance linking of devices (no passwords in cloud, no sharing of safari links history...) or go for iTunes integration (without iCloud?

    - - - - Once Apple was simple. Now I need to be a systems programmer again. Gasp.

Well, I connected my iPod (classic) I also restarted iTunes.

    Two things happened:

    1) iTunes synchronized all old files to the iPhone. Also new albums.

    2) And suddenly I could manually drag a newly imported album to the list of devices, it highlighted both the iPhone and iPod with a very large blue border. But the iPod classic still gets no update.

So,it seems solved and I will look again to the iPod issue.

    Hi,

    I also don't use iCloud.

Good to hear that the iPhone sync now.

I don't know which iPod Classic do you have

I found here an (perhaps) interesting thread for you.
