Q: Sometimes it rings on my iPad but mostly it doesn't

My 6+ and Air2 are both set up such that the phone should ring on my iP.  And sometimes it does  But mostly it doesn't.  Any ideas how to start debugging an intermittent problem?

IF you have setup and met all the criteria here that's the starting point. Since you say that it works sometime, you would seem to have to have it setup properly. It doesn't hurt to double check.

Use Continuity to connect your iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, and Mac - Apple Support

Make sure that you are close enough to the phone - within range of the WiFi network - signed into iCloud on all devices.

Try a forced restart. Sometimes this cures odd little issues. No data is lost with this procedure. Hold down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10 seconds until the Apple logo appears on the screen.

IF that didn't help, try Settings>General>Reset>Reset all settings. All settings will return to out of the box defaults, and you will have to enter them all again including WiFi network passwords. You will also have to start all over again and set up iPhone cellular calls.

I double checked and everything seems properly set up.  I did receive a call this afternoon that did ring both devices.  Yesterday it didn't.  Some things in life are just a mystery.
