Apple TV apps duplicating on iPad

The apps I download from the app store through Apple TV are simultaneously also downloading onto my ipad. Some don't even have a iOS counterpart so they at first don't offer an 'X' if you want to delete them.

How do I stop this duplication downloading from happening?

thanks.

Some Apple TV apps are Universal apps that have iOS versions for iPad and iPhone. If you have automatic downloads enabled on any iOS devices those universal apps downloaded on ATV4 will show up on your iOS devices. To disable this you can go into Setting and "iTunes & App Stores" on the iPad and turn off the Apps slider for automatic downloads.

Some apps have both Apple TV and iOS equivalents. If your iPad is set to automatically download all new purchases, then they will be downloaded to both devices.

Apple TV apps can't be used on the iPad, so they are not literally the same. Only apps built into iOS can't be deleted.

Give an example of app(s) that behave the way you claim, and I'll check it.
