Q: Amp Problems

Hello, my problem is I have an 3mm cable with a 1/4 cable from radio shack at the other end. When I plug them my iphone 6(garageband). Nothing comes out the other end. Am I doing something wrong or do I need to puerchase another cable?

    Hi MajesticAlpaca246,

Thanks for checking out the Apple Support Communities. I understand you're having trouble getting any sound out of your iPhone and the GarageBand app when you plug it in to an amp. I can certainly understand wanting to make sure you're able to hear what you're playing.

The first thing that I recommend to do, if you're able to, is try to test this out with another set of cables. You can also try your set of cables with a different device using GarageBand. Doing this will actually help narrow down if there's an issue with the cables, the amp, or the iPhone.

One other easy step that you can try is to unplug everything and then try restarting your iPhone and testing again.

    How to restart

    1.  Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the red slider appears.
    2.  Drag the slider to turn your device completely off.
    3.  After the device turns off, press and hold the Sleep/Wake button again until you see the Apple logo.

Restart your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support

    Cheers!
