Apple Watch
Q: I have never seen the cloud on my watch symbolizing wifi connection.
I have never seen the cloud on my watch symbolizing wifi connection. How do I get it to work when both phone and watch are on the same network?

Apple Watch
Hi Kristian
If your Apple Watch is not connected to your iPhone via Bluetooth, but is within range of a (2.4GHz) Wi-Fi network that your iPhone has connected to before (whilst it was connected to your watch via Bluetooth), then your watch can connect to that network and still offer certain features:
To check the connection status of your watch, go to the Settings Glance:
- When viewing the time on your watch, swipe up on the display, then swipe left / right to the Settings Glance.
- This will state either Connected or Disconnected:
- If it states Connected and the icon at the upper-right corner is a green phone, then your watch is connected to your iPhone via Bluetooth.
- If it states Connected and the icon is a green cloud, then your watch is disconnected from your iPhone via Bluetooth, but has instead connected (as a fallback) to a known Wi-Fi network.
- If it states Disconnected, your watch is disconnected from your iPhone and also is not connected to a Wi-Fi network. The icon at the upper-right corner will be a red phone with a line through it.
- Swipe down again to return to the watch face.
To test whether your watch is presently able to connect to a compatible known Wi-Fi network as a fallback:
- When within range of that network, turn off Bluetooth on your iPhone.
- After pausing for a short while, check the connection status of your watch as described above.
