Q: Split Audio from FCP X / Export to Logic Pro / Enhance audio / Add back to FCP X
Hello,
I have a music video I've shot - the audio needs work - I'd like to export the audio file alone and import it into Logic Pro X where I can clean up the audio and add enhancements.
After this audio clean up is done, I'd like to import the enhanced audio file back into FCP X and re-sync it to the video.
Is this possible with this software? Do you have any ideas how I may acieve this?
Thanks!
James

Several ways to do this.
AIFF
Export this via Share > Master File, in the Settings section, set Format to Audio Only. Use that file in LPX. Bounce out an AIFF from LPX. Import that into FCPX. Drop it into your Timeline, mute you original audio file(s).
FCPXML
With the Timeline pane active, File > Export XML. In LPX, File > Import > FCP Cut Pro XML. Fix it up in LPX. When done, File > Project To Final Cut Pro XML. This will send it back to FCPX. Good if you have multiple audio clips you want to keep in tact inside of an FCPX timeline format.
X2Pro
If you're doing more complex stuff, the application X2Pro will convert a Final Cut Pro X XML export to sometime more usable by Logic Pro X (or ProTools). Costs extra money, but if you do this for a living, and do it a lot, and work with more complex project Timelines, you'll want this.
