My imessages say sending but never sends. I always have to hard reset my phone or turn it off and on in order to actually be able to send the messages and sometimes the rest of my social apps become unresponsive. Even then after i restart my phone about an hour later it continues to do the same thing. Has anyone ever had this problem or know to fix it??

To start, check out some of the troubleshooting tips suggested in this article:
If you can‘t send or receive messages on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
If you continue to have issues after going through those preliminary steps, then let's have you sign out of iMessage and back in again:
This will make refresh your iPhone's connection to iMessage and should get you back on track.
