iPad 2 vs iPad pro photos capacity

Hello everyone

I have an old iPad 2 with synced photos from my PC, about 5000 photos and movies, The total capacity is 29GB for the photos only.

Yesterday I bought an iPad pro 9.7 and sync the same files from iTunes and now the capacity is 40GB for the photos only.

The total PC folder is about 60GB.

Any suggestion why I got 11GB more?

Is it possible that the iPad pro got a better screen resolution so it use more pixels that the iPad 2?

Thanks

Eran

iTunes optimizes photos when you sync them to the device. If I'm not mistaken, the iPad 2 doesn't have retina display. Since iPad 2 resolution is much lower than the Pro, your photos are downsized a whole lot more than the Pro. The difference may be a lot if you have the larger iPad Pro. Just my wild guess.
