so why is there 90 days wait for icloud merge of files on new device

Cannot merge files with icloud on iphone because it says have to wait 90 days because the ID is associated with another device, even though that device is no longer working,

What about cases when one guy bought macbook from another guy and just want to listen music from his own iTunesMatch? Is there are any way to fast forward this THREE MONTHS WITHOUT MUSIC? 🙂

I don't believe that there is any way to zero out the day counter. But the situation you are describing would have to be someone who had associated that Mac to their Apple ID fewer than 90 days ago. And by "associated" I mean that they would have had to do one of the following within the last 90 days:

Best of luck,

No, it isn't unbelievable, it is the waiting period that is enforced when you are associating a device with a new Apple ID, and when the previous Apple ID re-downloaded purchases, had automatic downloads turned on, was using iTunes Match, or was on Family Sharing.

Here is a support article that explains what an Associated device means:

Associated Device

You always have the option to sync those items to your device via iTunes. You just cannot re-download past purchases until the 90 day waiting period is up.

That is irrelevant. You can access those apps on a device that is not already associated with another Apple ID. However, in your case the device you are trying to re-download apps to downloaded media from iTunes on the same day that you then signed in (ergo the 90 day waiting period). If the previous person who had been signed into the device had not downloaded any media for the last 90 days, you would be able to sign in and download immediately.

If you want access to your apps, back up your device to iCloud or iTunes, then erase it and then set it up as a new device. You can then download your apps.

Whether you like it or not, this policy has been in place for years. It is primarily to prevent people from illegally downloading their music to somebody else's device. So, Apple in this regard, is exactly what it used to be. You can do anything else on that device, just not download past purchases for 90 days.

If you wish to go to an android device, that is your privilege. As fellow users, we have no vested interest in whatever you decide to do.

controlling how and when you use the content you pay for.

What you actually "pay for" is a license to use the music under specific conditions.

One of these conditions dictates that you can't just switch users on your device willy nilly as you see fit.

Keep in mind re: digital content. You do not own anything. And to be clear, Apple has actually loosened their DRM policies over the years, so your "Apple isn't what it used to be" rant is off base.
