6S Plus has been struck by bendgate!

After noticing something felt weird and looked weird on the screen recently. I turned the phone sideways where the power button it's straight, turned to the side of the volume buttons curved (bent). So i do keep my iPhone in my pocket until i get to my vehicle and sit down. Most of the time i remember to pull it out of my pocket. Being i am really careful with my device and always in a case, I went to the Apple store over an hour drive to a Genius bar appointment. Being that the bending problem was supposedly fixed in the 6S Apple told me it is not replaceable like the 6 plus was. It is now ruled as accidental damage and a new one would be $329.00. Needless to say i was disappointed. I went ahead and had a diagnostic ran to make sure all was functioning. 6S Plus, 64 gb, iOS 9.3.2.

"The iPhone 6s enclosure is made from the same grade of aluminum used in the aerospace industry. It’s created from a unique composition of elements that make it the strongest alloy we’ve ever used in an iPhone. They’re made with 7000 Series aluminum." - http://www.apple.com/iphone-6s/design/

Any bending of this product would be considered to be extreme. 6000 is a strong grade of aluminum, but 7000 series flies in a different stratosphere in strength. You can check out the reviews from various websites and youtubers that have accounted to this.

If you have a local Apple Retail Store, you can make an appointment online at http://www.apple.com/retail/geniusbar/ or by calling Contact Apple for support and service - Apple Support. The final decision will be made upon physical inspection only.
