Shared Albums Not Showing on MacBook Pro Photos

When I open Photos on my laptop (macbook pro), I do NOT see my shared albums in the left-hand column. I have in the past, but they're gone. How do I get them back? iCloud Photo sharing is turned on. (Why do I find Apple's Photos so difficult when everything else is so easy?)

Check, if you have the Shared albums hidden. There is a hidden "Show/Hide" control to the right of the title "Shared". Hover the pointer there to reveal it.

Click "Show", if this is available.

If the title "Shared" does not show at all, check, if Shared Albums are enabled in your Photos > Preferences > iCloud. If yes, but the albums do not show, disable iCloud Photo Sharing in the System Preferences > iCloud, then restart the Mac, and enable iCloud Photo Sharing again.
