Q: Cooper Devices not supported by HomeKit?

I have a housefull of Cooper Aspire controlled lighting. Does anybody know when or if it will be compatible with HomeKit or is there an available bridge. Seems like Z-wave which Cooper uses is the predominent platform for home automation. Why is Apple not supporting this platform? Anybody have "workarounds".

HomeKit is an open platform that any company that makes home automation products can participate in. With that in mind you need to contact the company that makes the Cooper Aspire products and ask them if they plan to support Apple's HomeKit.

Also, Apple does not make hubs that communicate using the myriad of protocols like Z-wave. Apple's devices use common networking protocols like Wi-Fi and Bluetooth to communicate with hubs and some limited devices. It is up to the manufactures of home automation products to supply HomeKit compatible hubs to communicate with their various connected devices.
