Blurring objects you want to hide in current version of iMovie

I want to blur an item in one of my video clips and see no way to accomplish this. It appears...and there are knowledge based items and YouTube videos showing how to do it in iMovie 11...but not in the current version. It appears all of the advanced editing have been stripped out?

MacBook Pro, OS X El Capitan (10.11.5)

As far as I know there is no way to do this. The only workaround I can think of is taking a blurred image from somewhere else and overlaying it in picture in picture mode.

It can be done using picture in picture and keyframing (if the blur has to follow motion). I found this video demonstration: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lPn3Vc15FJ8
