Hello and welcome to Apple Support Communities, Sbandjl1.

It looks like you're having some trouble downloading your purchased songs to your My Music section in Apple Music on your Android device. Adding your own music to Apple Music so that you can enjoy it on several devices, is one of the many awesome features of Apple Music. I can certainly understand why you would reach out for help when it isn't working.

Since it's unclear which steps you took to add music in Apple Music, here are the exact steps:

    Add music to your collection

Your Apple Music membership makes it possible to enjoy your entire music library from any device that's signed in to Apple Music.

You can add music from the Apple Music catalog or from your own collection.

    From Apple Music

    1. In Apple Music, find the song, album, or playlist that you want to add.
    2. Tap More Options   to the right of the song, album, or playlist name.
    3. Tap   to add it to your music.

Songs and albums appear under My Music. Playlists appear under Playlists.

    From your own collection

To add music that you imported from CDs, or bought from the iTunes Store or other sources, use iTunes on a Mac or PC. Make sure that you have the latest version of iTunes.

    1. Open iTunes.
    2. Sign in to the iTunes Store with the same Apple ID that you use on your Android phone for Apple Music.
    3. Turn on iCloud Music Library and wait for iTunes to finish updating your library.

Any music that you add to iTunes after you turn on iCloud Music Library will be available in Apple Music on your Android phone.

Create and manage your music collection in the beta of Apple Music on Android

If after following these steps it still does not work for you, let me know the following:

    1. What specifically happens when you try to add the music?
    2. Are you trying to add music purchased from iTunes?

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.

    Have an awesome day!

    Dear Alex_h1 (Community Support Specialist),

I am having the exact same issue with my Sony Xperia Z5 andriod phone. I see all of my purchased music on the Apple music app which is great; however, some songs play while others do not. Indeed I do see/have a playlist called "purchased music" which contains all of the music purchased over the years on my ipod, but while certain songs play without any hassle, certain songs do not. When I play a song that does not work, the response is "You did not buy this item. You can not redownload this." Not only is this an error but it is very image-147412.pngfrustrating to see one song not being able to play while another song that I know I purchased be able play.

An example of this would be the artist R. Kelly songs "I believe" and "I'm the world's greatest". Attached are picture evidence to prove my point. As the attached pictures show, the song "I'm the world's greatest" plays when I click on it; however, the song "I believe" does not and instead gives me an annoying message stating that I did not purchase the song, which is utter nonsense.

How shall I proceed? I am competing in an important competition this weekend and wish to be able to hear my music to motivate me for my race!!!

Many thanks for your quick and helpful response,
