Q: How can I get past error 4014 to restore my iPhone 5c?
Hello I am an amateur iPhone technician and I bough an iPhone 5C with a clean ESN that had a cracked screen and I missing home bottom and the lad bracket and battery brackets were missing. i tried restoring the phone with the damaged screen and kept getting different errors but 9 and 4014 were the most reoccuring. I realize that this could be a hardware issue so this is what I did:
- tried different batteries
- tried different lcd screens and front panels
- tried different cables
- tried different usB ports
- tried different computers
- used default and modified host file
- disabled my anti virus
- updated iTunes and windows
- used logic board in a different 5C
i successfully got it to restore once and left it charging, when I came back 30 minutes later it was bricked again and it was back to square one! The iPhone is stuck in the black screen I think it is dfu mode. iTunes downloads, extracts and attempts to install the software before giving error 4014. I can't even get the iTunes logo to appear on the screen of the iPhone 5C anymore. I tried everything from dr.fone to other 3rd party softwares. How can I get past this? It's either something wrong with the logic board (which part? Wifi chip?) or apple refuses to sign off on the update because the device may not have been updated in a long time. I bought it off mercari so I don't know the history of the device. How is it that I can successfully restore it once and next thing u know it is bricked again?? How do I resolve error 4014??
