Bluetooth won't turn on

Question

Can't turn Bluetooth on on my MacBook Pro. Have had the computer forbears & have always used iPhone thru bluetooth to connect to net away from home.

Some time ago this stopped working. I have followed the instruction is other posts by

1) deleted the com.apple.bluetooth.plist & other associated one. Restarted. No change.

2) Turned computer off. Ctrl+option+shift+power. Held, released. Restarted. No change.

Have spent hours on this. Really need it going. Please help

Try resetting the SMC:

- Try starting in Safe Mode

OS X: What is Safe Boot, Safe Mode?

- Boot to Recovery and repair the startup disk

- If it is repairable reinstall the OSX

How to reinstall OS X on your Mac - Apple Support

- If you do not have a backup use disk utility to restore the internal disk to an external disk so you can try to recover data.

Then format the startup disk and do a fresh install of OSX

If still problem, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

Open system preferences > bluetooth & click on advanced have you checked the settings in bluetooth .
