Q: Old iPhone 4 messing up iCloud
There is an old iPhone 4 in a list of phones that I haven’t owned for years. I’m sure it was recycled years ago. It is still in a list of “Trusted devices” that I tried to delete years ago but could not figure out how. Unfortunately whenever I try to sign in to iCloud or Messages, etc, the nonexistent phone is there and I click on it, sending verification codes to a nonexistent phone. Thus I get locked out because I have not entered a code for a nonexistent phone.
This is so stupid. It is one reasion why I swear my next computer will not be Apple. All I want to do is sign into Messages and I have this huge obstacle going back years. The geniuses at Apple have made it so complicated that now its impossible to use.
In addition, now I can’t post a question because I get error:
You are not allowed to create or update this content
Unfortunately this is what I have come to expect from Apple, It just doesn’t work. So many things on my computers just don’t work.
MacBook Pro with Retina display, OS X Mavericks (10.9.5), Thunderbolt display, iPhone 5S

This article may help:
Check your Apple ID device list to see where you're signed in - Apple Support
See the section:
Remove a device from the list
If that doesn't work, let us know what error message, if any, you get.
