Apple wireless keyboard spacebar no longer function in Safari

I have an iMac 2.8 2008 running Ei Capitan 10.11.5 with 6gb ram.

Just recently I notice that my spacebar on my Apple wireless keyboard was not functioning on facebook. My first thought it was a facebook issue. Then I started noticing the issue was on other sites. I processed to check other applications and other browser to see if the issue was repeatable. The keyboard functioned perfect with no issue. The issue is so bad I am force to use Firefox to post this issue. Anyone have a fix!

I had the same problem: I just got an Apple brand bluetooth keyboard, and the space bar doesn't work in Safari. It works in other programs. The keyboard works fine on other computers. I went through the whole set of testing. Turned out, for me, it was the ClickToFlash browser extension. When I turned that off in Safari, the space bar started working again.
