My Mac stays on dark screen - wont turn on but start up chime comes up

I have a Mac Book Pro Retina 13" (mid 2015)

My Mac turned a year old just this month and soon after it got broken. I didnt drop it, and all that stuff, suddenly out of nowhere the screen won't show up when I turn it on. The chime comes up the keyboard is working, LED keyboard lights are working, capslock is working and all. Also, when I connected my macbook pro retina to the HDMI on TV, i could see my wallpaper, but I couldnt use it because I couldnt login to my computer. I went to the Apple Store and they told my Mac had just expired... and I needed to pay over $500 to fix it. How unfortunate....

Does anyone of you know how to help me with my Mac problem?

Sure sounds like you screen/display failed.

If you hold a flashlight to the screen can you faintly see anything? If so then the backlight has problems.

I could see lights showing on the scree when I turn it on. I dont reach the apple logo startup, just the chime and then blank greyish screen 😟

Your model Mac Book Pro is not included in Apple's MacBook Pro Repair Extension Program for Video Issues. Give Apple Customer Relations, not tech support a phone call & ask if your computer can be included.

Too bad you did not elect to purchase Apple Care. Check with your credit card company about your warranty options. Good possibility you are covered for repairs. That is of course if you did not cash purchase your computer.
