keyboard and mouse not working

The mousepad on my macbook pro is stuck and it gives me a message that there is no keyboard connected. Is this just a matter of troubleshoot or is it something more complex??

MacBook Pro with Retina display, OS X El Capitan (10.11.4)

If still problem, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.
