Q: How do I stop the apps from syncing onto my iPhone when I am syncing my music from iTunes on my Mac to my iPhone?

How do I stop all the Apps that are in my iTunes from syncing onto my iPhone while I am syncing my music from my iTunes on my Mac to my iPhone? There doesn't seem to be a check box in the Apps section to not have ALL of these apps go back on my iPhone. Help!! Now do I have to delete each App individually off of my iPhone?

iPad, iOS 6.1.3

    Hi there deg20,

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities! It sounds like all of the apps listed in iTunes are syncing to your iPhone while you are moving your music over. I can understand wanting to be able to customize what content is on your device. I'll be more than happy to assist!

From what you are describing, the "Automatically sync when this iPhone is connected" option seems to be enabled. To turn that off, go to the Summary tab and uncheck the box next to that feature. Once you've done that, you should be able to navigate between the specific media/content sections to pick and choose what you would like to sync to your device. Once you apply those changes, it should be reflected on your iPhone. Check out the following article for tips on syncing content to your iPhone:

Sync your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch with iTunes on your computer using USB

You may also need to ensure that you have enabled the option to manually manage content, as described in this article:

Sync your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch with iTunes on your computer using USB

If you can't manually add or remove content from your device

Check to make sure that the "Manually manage music and videos" option is turned on:

    1. Connect your device to your computer.
    2. Open iTunes. Make sure that you have the latest version.
    3. Locate and click on your device.
Icon of iOS device in iTunes
    4. In the left sidebar, click Summary.
    5. Scroll down to the Options section.
    6. Click the box next to "Manually manage music and videos."
    7. Click Apply.

You might see a message that your device is synced with another library. This means that you've used a different computer to sync your device in the past, and iTunes can't sync without first erasing and replacing all iTunes content on your device.

Have a fantastic rest of your day!

Hello Johann. Thank you for your response to my question but I figured it out. In the Apps tab on the left sidebar, there is a check box all the way at the bottom of the Apps list that says "Automatically install new apps". I did not see this and it was checked when I went to sync my music to my iPhone. I have now unchecked it.

In the Summary tab under Options, my first option to "Automatically sync when this iPhone is connected" is greyed out and NOT checked at all as you thought. I have nothing checked in this area because I wanted to sync all my songs.

    I appreciate your help.

    Thanks
