Do a forced restart - After shutting down all open apps using the app switcher - invoked by quick double press of the home button and swiping up on each app till it flies off the screen.
Hold the sleep/wake and home buttons down together till you see logo - then release and allow normal boot up
Then re add the account in

Set up an email account on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support
Reset your Mail Account: First close your Mail App completely from the app switcher window by double clicking the Home button and swiping up the Mail preview pane up until it disappears from the screen. Then go to Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars > locate your email provider and click on the account and swipe to Delete. Then do a forced restart.
