Q: Help, AT&T Yahoo mail in mail app dissapeared

My iPad 2 mail app suddenly eliminated all the mail in my AT&T Yahoo account. The account is still there but the mail dissapeared. How can I retrieve the mail on my iPad. BTW if I log into my Yahoo mail through Safari the mail is there. My iPad 3 displays the Yahoo mail just fine. The incoming mail on my iPad 3 shows pop.att.yahoo.com. My iPad 2 shows under incoming mail imap.mail.att.net.

 

What can I do to restore the mail on the iPad 2?

    Delete the account

     

    Do a forced restart -  After shutting down all open apps using the app switcher - invoked by quick double press of the home button and swiping up on each app till it flies off the screen.

    Hold the sleep/wake and home buttons down together till you see  logo - then release and allow normal boot up

     

    Then re add the account in

    I have AT&T Yahoo mail myself. Reset your email account following the instructions at bottom. After deleting the account and doing the forced restart, add the account back in following the instructions in this article - choose Yahoo as the provider, not Other.

    Reset your Mail Account:  First close your Mail App completely from the app switcher window by double clicking the Home button and swiping up the Mail preview pane up until it disappears from the screen. Then go to Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars > locate your email provider and click on the account and swipe to Delete. Then do a forced restart. Hold down the Home and Wake/Sleep buttons at the same time for about 15-20 seconds until the Apple logo appears. Then go back to Settings > Mail… and add the account again following the instructions above.
