I have been trying to figure out how I can download the social media buttons like LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, etc., to my character viewer. Any thoughts on how this can be done?

Character viewer can only show the characters included in the fonts installed on your computer. so you would need to get a font that has those buttons. Try a Google search for that. How well such a font would work you would have to test, as it would be non- standard.
