Q: New podcast nowhere to be found

Hi friends!

I have a new podcast called Booze and Phasers. We're on episode 4 and while I can see the podcast when I search for it, it's nowhere to be found anywhere else in itunes. I've searched through the thousands of listings in N&N, what's hot, etc in each category it's listed under (arts, comedy, tv&film). We've also had a good number of reviews/ratings and subscribers since launching so, while I don't expect to be at the top, I would think I would see our show SOMEWHERE under the N&N listings.

My concern is that maybe I haven't listed it correctly as a new show or I'm not using keywords in the right way.  I'm afraid my awesome show is going to fall into the abyss if I can't figure out where it is.  Would anyone mind taking a look or weighing in?  I would really appreciate it.

thanks!

Searching just on the category in the iTunes Store is most unlikely to throw up your podcast. There are thousands of podcasts out there, and it would be quite impossible to display on one page the entire list for any category. What you see are 'featured' podcasts, chosen by Apple as being special. Note that there is no way you can influence the selection other than making your podcast really special (bribery won't work ☺ ).

    thank you for the response!

Okay as long as there's nothing technically wrong with my show.  i completely understand not being featured in the main section, or even the top section...i just think it's weird that shows that have been out for years are listed in new and noteworthy and mine brand new show that's kicking *** is nowhere to be found LOL

There don't appear appear to be any technical problems with your podcast.

Your website and podcast RSS feed show episode 4 as your latest episode, which matches the iTunes Store listing. Let us know if that's not actually your latest episode. Otherwise, I think you're OK now.

It wasn't so much about the episode appearing when subscribing, but the OP was hoping to find the podcast by searching on the categories or 'New and Noteworthy' where of course the chances of appearing are very small.
