Q: 300 gb in apps?

Hello, I'm new in this OS and do not know if this is okay. in system preferences shown 300gb applications are increasing, but seeing the hard disk information shows me other information.

MacBook Pro, OS X El Capitan (10.11.5)

The program that generates that particular display has a bug and cannot be relied upon for accurate information. Sometimes, but not always, a Spotlight reindex will correct it:

If you want accurate information regarding what is on your MBP, download from the Internet OmniDiskSweeper and Grand Perspective (both free) and open them. They will show all of your files and the respective sizes.
