Q: Sudden problem with connection to internet

I run Windows 7 on VM Ware Fusion 6.0.6 on an iMac 2,66GHz Intel Core 2 duo with OSX 10.9.5.

Until 2 days ago everything worked well with my Windows applications and connection to the Internet.

When I now trying to use either Internet explorer, Safari or any other application using the internet I get the message "Computer not connected to a network".

Using the trouble shooter of Windows I get the message "Network cable is not properly plugged or may be broken".

I replugged the connection cable on both sides - computer and router - with no result. But this of course is not the source of the problem since the Apple side of my computer shows clearly that I have an Ethernet connection and I have no problem whatsoever to surf, mail or using any other application via Internet.

Can anybody tell me how to restore my Internet connection on the Windows 7 side?

Thanks beforehand for your assistance

Try resetting the router and the modem, if you have other devices that work still reset the router & modem. Then if the problem persists run Use Mail Connection Doctor - Apple Support per the directions Apple provides.

I tried this with no success and I don't see how Mail connection Doctor on the Apple support side could be of any assistance as the problem I do have is on the Windows 7 side behind VM Ware Fusion on one of my iMacs.

Internet connections on all other devices (iMac's and iPads) do work properly.

    Thanks nevertheless.Any other suggestions ???

You only have trouble surfing the web within your VM?

Try to disable/enable the ethernet adapter within the VM. If this does not help try to disable/enable it in your VM configuration for this special Windows VM. You can disable the Internet Access within VMs in that config panel. Maybe there is a lack?
