    Hello bpsfrommp,

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.

I understand that after upgrading your iPhone 5 to iOS 9.3.2 that your camera and flashlight are no longer working. I know how important it is for you to be able to use both your camera and flashlight. I recommend the steps in the following article in the "Your flash isn't working" section:

Get help with the camera on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

    Your flash isn't working

If the flash isn’t working, or it goes off every time you take a photo, check your flash settings. Tap   in the upper-left of the screen to choose a different setting.

If you take extended video with the flash on, or you’re using the device in a very warm environment, you might see a message that says the flash is disabled. The message might remain until your device cools down.

If the flash is on when you’re not using the camera, check the Control Center and see if the flashlight is on.

Regarding your flashlight, restarting your iPhone may help. Here are the steps:

    How to restart

    1. Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the red slider appears.
    2. Drag the slider to turn your device completely off.
    3. After the device turns off, press and hold the Sleep/Wake button again until you see the Apple logo.

    Best Regards

Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately, I have tried all the "fixes" I've seen posted -- restarting, etc. The other thing is that when I click on the flash symbol in the camera setting it says that the flash need to cool down before being used -- this occurs all the time and has nothing to do with the phone being hot.

    You're welcome, bpsfrommp!

If the steps in the above-mentioned article did not resolve the issue, I would recommend contacting Apple support as suggested at the bottom of the article. They can run a diagnostic test to see if any hardware issues are causing the problem.

    If you still need help

If you still can't take a photo, your photos don't look right, or you need help with something else, contact Apple Support.

Also, you can check the warranty status of your iPhone by entering your serial number in to the website below.
