Q: Extension CinemaPro ghost

Every time I start my iMac I get a notice "The extension CinemaPro1.2 was automatically removed" followed by a OK button. Clicking on the button does not prevent  the same thing next time. A search does not show any file with this name. While this is just a minor annoyance, I would appreciate any ideas for removing it.

Thanks

iMac (27-inch, Late 2013), OS X Mavericks (10.9.2)

    Hello MikeAdamsCT,

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.

From your post, I understand that you are receiving a message that says, "The extension CinemaPro1.2 was automatically removed." every time you start up your iMac. I understand not wanting a strange message like that coming up every time and not being able to locate what it is referring to so you can prevent it from happening every time.

I recommend using the steps in the following article in the "Turn off or uninstall extensions" section:

Install and manage Safari extensions on your Mac

    Turn off or uninstall extensions

    1. Choose Preferences from the Safari menu, then click Extensions.
    2. Select an extension from the list.
    3. Turn off the extension by deselecting the Enable checkbox. If you can't determine what an extension does, or you don't expect to use it again, click the Uninstall button.

    Best regards.
