remote access MacMini...Mom's helper

Question: how to set up remote access to my Mom's computer so that I can address any of the technical issues that she has?

I have an iMac late 2013 with El Capitan 10.11.5.

My mom's computer is a mac mini upgraded to 8 MG of RAM and also with El Capitan (not sure if there have been other updates since I was there last).

I would like to be able to connect to her computer remotely in order to see her screen and be able to assist in updates remotely.

I understood that El Capitan had the capability built-in but I wanted to know how to set it up.

Thank you in advance for your assistance.

Thank you for your prompt response...I have a follow up question.

I am not going to be sharing files with that computer. My mom does not have an iCloud account. I just want to be able to access it like if I were going to do tech support (which I am...haha). Is there another way to connect? or should I set up an iCloud account for my mom?

Thank you again!
