Q: Can't get all shared album uploads to appear on Mac (but ok on phone)

In a shared album with my friends, both the creator's and the subscribers' uploads appear in Photos on my iPhone (iOS 9.3.2), but only the creator's photos appear in Photo Stream in iPhoto on my Mac (OS X 10.8.5).  How can I get the rest to appear on my Mac as well?

MacBook Air (13-inch Mid 2013), OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.5)

You can't have subscribers to your photo stream, I'm not sure I understand your question.

In a shared album with my friends, both the creator's and the subscribers' uploads appear in Photos on my iPhone (iOS 9.3.2),

Save the photos from the shared album to your Camera Roll (select the photos and use Save from the Share menu).

After the photos have been save to the Camera Roll they should appear in My Photo Stream and be streamed to your Mac.

Or enable the Cloud Photo Sharing on your Mac as well, so you can see the shared albums on your Mac. Which version of iPhoto are you using? Does it support shared albums/Shared Photo Streams?

It's that second approach I'm having trouble with.  Cloud Photo Sharing is enabled on my Mac, and I can see the shared album (shared stream, in this case?), but only the photos that the album's creator uploaded - not those that other subscribers and I have uploaded.  Is there any way for me to get those photos to display as well?

Which version of iPhoto are you using with OS X 10.8.5?

To be fully compatible with iCloud Photo Sharing on iOS 9.3.2, you need Mac with OS X Mavericks v10.9 or later and iPhoto 9.5 or Aperture 3.5  (https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201077)

The way shared albums are handled changed after the upgrade to OS X 10.9.5.

The ability to have multiple subscribers add to shared albums came only with the iPhoto 9.5 update on OS X Mavericks, the same for Aperture 3.5.

Gotcha - I'm still on Mountain Lion, which may be the problem.  I'll upgrade and see if it works.  Thank you!

    You're welcome.

Can you update iPhoto?  Do you have an App Store version of iPhoto? for any other version it will be difficult now that Apple stopped the support for iPhoto. Check Barney's user tip:

    See this link.

Can't Update iPhoto because it is not available in the App Store.
