Q: Apple Music members music content automatically changed with iCloud Music Library enabled

Recently subscribed to Apple Radio and enabled the iCloud Music Library feature on my iPhone only so that I may download music to use offline on the go. But I noticed Apple has updated/changed all my music content which I have manually updated prior to that. Not sure how to disable Apple from updating my music content.. I tried turning off the iCloud Music Library feature which in turns deletes all the music I downloaded to use offline and still the content changed by Apple is there! Is anyone aware of a way of keeping iCloud Music Library on without Apple changing my own music content?

iPhone 5s, iOS 9.3.2, null

    Hello Sharef Ali,

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.

I see that you have recently joined Apple Music, and when you enabled iCloud Music Library, it has updated your previous music content. I'm an Apple Music subscriber as well, so I'll be more than happy to assist you with this.

The article iCloud Music Library: Understanding differences between Apple Music and iTunes Match will help explain exactly what happens when you use Apple Music and the iCloud Music Library, specifically, this section:

    Using Apple Music

Your Apple Music membership includes an iCloud Music Library, which allows you to enjoy your entire music library from all of your devices.

When you first join, Apple Music checks your music collection to see which of your songs are also in the Apple Music catalog. It does this by matching against your song’s details (such as name, artist, album). If we have your songs in our catalog, we make them available to access on all of your devices.

When Apple Music adds these matched songs to your iCloud Music Library, Apple Music doesn’t change or alter your original music files that reside in iTunes for Mac or PC or on your iOS devices from which they were added. We make these matched songs available to your other computers or devices in high quality 256 Kbps AAC, and they can be played on them only while your Apple Music membership is active.

In addition, iTunes will upload to your iCloud Music Library those songs that we can’t find in our catalog, to make them available to you on all of your other devices.

Thank you for the response. So even though Apple Music only changed the
content on my iPhone and not the original music files on my iTunes PC, I cannot
reverse it by simply disabling the iCloud Music Library or any other way?

I tried signing out of all my iCloud accounts and disabled the iCloud Music
Library, but the content of my previous music is still showing what Apple has
changed it to on my iPhone. And the reason I am trying to remove it, is because
I have a lot of world music now showing the incorrect details (albums, artist,
    etc)

    Hi Sharef Ali,

If you have turned off iCloud Music Library on your iTunes PC, and your iPhone, and you are still seeing incorrect album and artist details; please Quit both of the apps on these devices and give your devices a fresh restart. You can quit the Music app on your iPhone by using the steps here:

Force an app to close on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

After you've restarted your PC and your iPhone, open iTunes and the Music app, and test to see if you now have the correct details.

If you still have an issue after that, please contact our support directly with the link below:
