Q: "The item you tried to dowload is no longer available"

hello all,

I have seen a lot of discussions opened around the same problem, but couldn't find a solution working for me, so I decided to open a new thread to see if I could get any help.

I recently got some trouble with the album "All the right wrongs" by Emily Osment that I can't play anymore on my iPhone. I'm an Apple Music suscriber so all my music is sync perfectly between my mac and my phone without any trouble, except for this album where I get the error message in the title. I search for the album in the store, sure enough, it doesn't seem to be available for streaming, only purchase, but the thing is I had this album way before suscribing to Music and it was working fine until, by mistake, I tried to download an app that wasn't in my store... I quickly corrected this mistake by logging out and in again so all my Apple Music would come back like before, but this one album keep bugging!

I deleted it completely from my Library and (turning the wi-fi off), re-installed it before syncing Apple Music again and addding it to it. No error message, on the computer the album is playing fine, I have no icon telling me that it's not in my cloud, but every time I try to play it on my phone, I get this error "The item you tried to dowload is no longer available".

Can someone please suggest me something I could do to be able to stream that album again on my phone?

By the way, all my devices are at the latest version, iTunes included.

Thanks in advance.

iPhone 6, iOS 9.3.2

    Hello helenecolin,

Thanks for that info and choosing the Apple Support Communities. I know how important getting this album working with your Apple Music service!

The good news is the following articles will be helpful in troubleshooting your issue of getting this album working again.

    1. First, make sure it plays on your computer. If it doesn’t work on your computer, this could cause some of the issues you're experiencing. If this was purchased from the iTunes Store, re-download a copy of this album and try playing again.

iTunes 12 for Mac: Download previous purchases from the iTunes Store

    2. Try to manually re-upload the album from iTunes on your computer to Apple Music again. Then restart your iPhone, check your Music app and see if this upload has been reflected.

Add music from your own collection to your Apple Music library

    Cheers!

    Hi jdo_apple,

Unfortunately, I had already tried all that before posting on the community... The album is not a virtual purchase I made on iTunes, but a physical one. It's the mp3 version that I imported on my iTunes. I have already deleted it and synced my Library 3 times, to no avail, I still get that error message while the album on my computer is clearly marked as uploaded to my Apple Music library...

Do you have any other fix I can try?

    Thanks.

    HI jdo_apple,

Just so you know, I finally got my problem solved, seemed like the songs were not correctly imported in the first place hence why I couldn't access them in the iCloud... The support team gave me this link to check out the status of my iCloud uploads to make sure the songs were correctly on the iCloud and now everything is working fine: About iCloud Music Library icons and status - Apple Support

Though, they disconnected me right after giving me that link, a bit rude of you Support team reading this post (if you ever come across it), you could have at least ended the chat with "I hope this will help you out, don't hesitate to reopen your case if you're still having trouble, have a good day!", that wouldn't have killed you guys
