Chargers suddenly not working on my phone

I am so frustrated! My phone updated in the middle of the night and the charger is now no longer 'compatible with my phone'. Works with all other family members in the house and their chargers also don't work with my phone - not compatible. My phone is dead and I can't get the serial number so can't even 'chat' with apple. I can't wait for my contract to be done with Apple. How the **** am I meant to charge my phone, or do they expect me to drive 30 miles to the nearest apple store and buy one of their control freak chargers??? All while I am meant to be working. Does anyone know a way around this? We have 6 chargers at home and none of them will work on my phone now.

Are these genuine Apple chargers, or are they 3rd party devices? If 3rd party devices, are they branded with the Made for iPhone logo? Have you checked in the charging port to ensure there is no debris that is causing an issue with the connection?

These are third party chargers and there is no debris blocking the connection. The error messages I got stated the accessory may not be apple certified and may not work. Got the same message with all our chargers and then my phone died. I can't buy a charger today, have too much work to do, yet I have no working phone now either. How to get around this stupid update that now won't let any of our chargers work? Apple chargers burn out way too quickly and I would never want to buy one again, but it seems I am forced to do so.

If there is no dirt in the lightning connector on the phone, after careful inspection with a bright light and a magnifying glass, your phone is broken. it doesn't take much cruft in the connector to cause that error message.

If you think it is the USB adapter (it isn't a charger, just a USB power source) use a USB port on your computer.

Newer phones require Apple devices or Apple certified devices. There is no way around this "stupid update" except to use the correct products. I disagree with your statement about Apple chargers, as I have never had one fail, and I've been using the same ones that have come with my devices for years. You will have to either purchase an Apple device, or one that has been certified by Apple to work with the iPhone.
