Had the same Apple ID password for 5 years. Had to change it today. Infuriated. Tried to use Old in the New field, needed to be one I haven't used in the last year. Recourse???

Is there any recourse?

It's infuriating that every company forces their own password BS on consumers, and all are different. Is there a way to change my Apple ID password BACK TO WHAT IT WAS? Can support help?

I tried to change it back and refused due to being non-unique for the past year.

I'm forced to input it for FREE APPS and UPDATES at every turn, which for me is no more often than I absolutely have to, because I skip them. I'm sick of the inconvenience of it.

Android looks better all the time.

Any way to change the password back? Sorry to be so irate about this, but it's just another straw on the camel's back. Technology should be simple... Apple seemed to used to have this philosophy.

iPhone 5s, iOS 9.3.2, Starting to hate Apple.

If you think Android will be better for passwords, I think you're mistaken. Here are Google's password requirements.

I'd be willing to bet that Apple, Google, Facebook et al would all sacrifice passwords entirely if feasible. You are angry at the wrong people. This is not any technology company's fault. They have to protect users from themselves and others.

Technology should be simple, and it generally is, when possible. People shouldn't steal from each other either. Hence the need to complicate things like passwords.
